The pictured Marrow Quilt is made with deadstock fabrics. These are fabrics that have been produced, but are not being actively reproduced. Often rolls of deadstock fabrics sit in warehouses, and are left unused. As deadstock is not actively in production, there is limited quantity of the fabric at hand. The Marrow Quilt was made with the intention that each iteration would be one-of-a-kind, made with fabrics that are often produced and discarded. The design and pattern would remain the same, but the fabrics it is composed of would change from piece to piece.
Any commissioned piece would be composed of different fabrics, with the intention of using textile waste and maintaining the original design intent.
